This post is a bit of a companion for my 50 Things About Me video. I know that I sometimes want to just quickly scan the information rather than sit through a 10 minute video, so here’s a quick list of everything I mentioned. Peruse at your leisure and let me know if we’ve got anything in common! There’s nothing I’d love more than sharing some of my nerdy interests with a dear reader.
1. I absolutely love Bollywood movies.
2. My favorite Bollywood actors are Shahrukh Khan (duh!) and Kajol.
3. My golden age of Bollywood was the 2000s — Khabi Khushi Khabi Gham, Om Shanti Om, Kal Ho Na Ho (lots of crying).
4. I love Nancy Drew mystery computer games. You get to solve a not-too-scary mystery and do a lot of puzzles.
5. I love video games.
6. My favorite video games are Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and Spyro.
7. I want to live in the worlds of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (minus the bad guys).
8. I dream of a huge PC gaming setup.
9. Motivational commercials about the Olympics sometimes make me cry.
10. I’ve done Pilates for probably over a decade now and I always want it to be part of my exercise/health routine. (She says having done Pilates three times in all of last year).
11. Tried yoga tons of times and just can’t get into it.
12. I’m obsessed with old ships, like 1700s style.
13. I’ve got a bit of a temper, kinda like a flare gun. I get all cranky but calm down pretty quickly.
14. Once worked as a wedding dress model in high school.
15. Spanish club president in high school.
16. Spanish was my major in college.
17. Not to brag, but I got a 5 on the Spanish AP exam.
18. I wasn’t always confident with speaking Spanish, especially around when I was starting college. For a year or two I was actually too scared to talk to people in Spanish and it felt like the world had ended. I was such a perfectionist with myself that I thought if I made any mistakes in Spanish it meant that all my effort over the years didn’t count. Spanish was my best subject all through high school and to suddenly be too scared to use it felt terrible. Majoring in Spanish, however, slowly helped me to get over those fears and improve a lot, especially with my speaking skills.
19. Had originally majored in Business Administration, but switched to Spanish after taking Business Law.
20. Had planned for a long time to go to culinary school.
21. Now, after college, I’ve spent several years working on a job search, which I don’t have to tell any of you, totally sucks. I’m doing a bit of freelance and contract work right now, but I definitely don’t have a stable job, or income, or a clear picture for my future. I’ve got a lot of ideas and interests, but also a lot of worries. This is also why I haven’t been posting as much content recently. I keep thinking that this job stuff will get resolved soon, so I focus on that and don’t produce content. Then a few months pass, things are still the same, and I haven’t posted anything new. That’s something I’m hoping to change. Anyway, it’s not something fun, but it is a big part of my life right now.
22. Huge history nerd.
23. Minored in history in college.
24. As a kid, I checked out a book on Queen Elizabeth I from my school library at least 20 times.
25. In middle school, I designed and cut out my own Tudor era paper dolls.
26. Which I played with hidden behind my music stand in band.
27. Where I played clarinet.
28. Also I had wax letter sealing kit and wrote pretend letters and folded them and sealed them to then open and read like I was in Pride and Prejudice.
29 . When it comes to televised/movie versions of Pride and Prejudice, for me it’s the 1995/1996 BBC version all the way.
30. Favorite season is spring.
31. I put barely put any milk in my cereal, just a splash of almond milk.
32. I’m learning French because I want to go to Montreal.
33. I’m learning Japanese, mostly because of all the food I want to try. I’d also love to be able to read cookbooks in Japanese and try things out at home (this goes for many other languages as well).
34. I love to read, but I don’t have a favorite book.
35. My zodiac sign is Libra.
36. K-Pop fan.
37. Favorite groups are BTOB, Monsta X, Oh My Girl, Sistar and I’m starting to like Stray Kids and NCT.
38. I’ve been to 3 K-Pop concerts – Vixx, Boyfriend, and Got7.
39. Also really starting to like a bit of J-Pop, especially all the groups under the Exile umbrella.
40. Probably one of my favorite songs right now is “Always with You” by Generations from Exile Tribe. I honestly like it because of the lyrics and calm vibe, not the shirtless guys in the music video. I’ve been around K-Pop too long for a simple six pack to turn my head.
41. I really like Korean variety shows and dramas.
42. When it comes to dramas, my favorite recently is Chief Kim (김과장).
43. For variety shows, my favorites are Abnormal Summit (비정상회담) and Master in the House / All the Butlers (집사부일체).
44. I tend to save the last episode of dramas until months later because I don’t want them to end. For example, I watched Chief Kim in early 2018 and still haven’t watched the final episode and have no plans to do so.
45. Love Oreo McFlurries.
46. My favorite kinds of food/cuisines of the world are Cajun and Tex-Mex. They’re like comfort food for me, probably because I grew up eating Tex-Mex here in Texas and my mom is from Louisiana and makes Cajun food at home. That being said, I love almost all food.
47. I didn’t care about or go to prom in high school. I went to homecoming once and it really wasn’t my thing. Usually on those days I’d go do something fun with my family, like shop around Sur la Table and sample coffees.
48. Really love home shopping channels like QVC and HSN. I don’t actually buy much, but I have it on the TV all day. It’s so pleasant and comforting.
49. Crazy about figure skating.
50. I live in Uniqlo, especially their lounge pants. Wearing ‘em right now.

Esta entrada sirve para acompañar mi video de 50 Cosas Sobre Mí. Sé que a veces prefiero la rapidez de simplemente leer la información en vez de ver todo un video de 10 minutos, así que aquí está una lista de todo lo que mencioné. Toma tu tiempo en leerlo y ¡dime si tenemos algo en común! No hay nada que me gustaría más que compartir alguno de mis intereses con mis queridos lectores.
1. Me encantan las películas Bollywood.
2. Mis actores/actrices favoritos de Bollywood son Shahrukh Khan y Kajol.
3. Mi época favorita de Bollywood son los años 2000 (Khabi Khushi Khabi Gham, Om Shanti Om, Kal Ho Na Ho (que me hizo llorar un montón)).
4. Soy muy, muy fan de los videojuegos de misterios de Nancy Drew. Resuelves misterios y haces muchos acertijos y rompecabezas.
5. Me encantan los videojuegos.
6. Mis videojuegos favoritos son Mirror’s Edge Catalyst y Spyro.
7. Quiero vivir en el mundo de Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (menos el gobierno malo).
8. Sueño con una computadora para los videojuegos y todo el equipo así.
9. Los comerciales motivadores como para los Olímpicos a veces me hacen llorar.
10. Hace más de una década que hago Pilates y siempre quiero que forme parte de mi rutina de ejercicio. (Digo esto con sólo haber hecho Pilates tres veces en el año pasado).
11. He intentado yoga muchas veces pero no logro que me interese.
12. Estoy obsesionada con los barcos viejos, como del siglo 18.
13. Puedo enojarme rápidamente, pero también suelo calmarme rápidamente, como una lanza-bengalas o pistola de bengalas.
14. Una vez en la prepa trabajé como modelo de vestidos de boda.
15. También en la prepa, fui presidente del club de español.
16. Y el español fue mi carrera en la universidad para la licenciatura.
17. Saqué un 5 de 5 en el examen AP del español.
18. No siempre me sentía segura con hablar el español. Al fin de la prepa hasta como mi segundo año de la universidad, me puse muy muy tímida al hablar español, hasta tenía miedo de hacerlo. Era muy perfeccionista con mi misma y tenía miedo de cometer cualquier error. La carrera en español en la universidad me ayudó a estar más cómoda hablando el español y no tener tanto miedo de equivocarme.
19. En la universidad, antes del español, mi carrera original fue la administración de empresas, pero lo cambié a español después de tomar una clase en las leyes de comercio.
20. Durante mucho tiempo planeaba asistir a la escuela culinaria.
21. Por estos días, estoy buscando trabajo después de graduarme de la universidad. ¡Es lo peor! Estoy haciendo algunos trabajos al estilo freelance o contract, pero nada estable. No es nada divertido, pero es una parte muy grande de mi vida en este momento y es por qué no he subido tanto contenido. Me enfoco en la búsqueda de trabajo y no en el blog o youtube. Pasan unos meses y las cosas siguen lo mismo y todavía no he subido nada nuevo. Ya estoy tratando de resolver eso. Bueno, como dije, no es nada divertido, pero sí es la realidad de mi vida en este momento.
22. Soy muy fan de la historia, como la materia de escuela.
23. De hecho la historia fue mi “minor” o materia secundaria en la universidad.
24. De niña, tomé prestado un libro de la vida de la reina Elizabeth I o Isabel la primera de Inglaterra como por lo menos 20 veces.
25. También como a las once años diseñé y jugué con mis propias muñecas de papel al estilo de esa época de la reina Isabel I, la época Tudor, del siglo 16.
26. Jugaba con esas muñecas de papel detrás de mi atril cuando era parte de la banda de la escuela.
27. En la cual, toqué el clarinete.
28. También tenía un juego de sellos de cera y escribí cartas imaginarias y las doblé y sellé para luego abrirlas e imaginar que yo era una protagonista de Orgullo y Perjuicio.
29. A propósito, mi versión favorita de orgullo y perjuicio, como las versiones de cine/tele, es la versión de BBC de 1995/1996.
30. Mi estación favorita es la primavera.
31. Casi no pongo leche en mi cereal. Sólo como un poquito, poquito de leche de almendra.
32. Estoy aprendiendo el francés porque quiero ir a Montreal.
33. Estoy aprendiendo el japonés, por toda la comida que quiero probar. También me encantaría poder leer libros de comida en japonés para probar recetas en casa (me gustaría hacer esto con otros idiomas también).
34. Siempre me ha gustado leer, pero no tengo un libro favorito.
35. Mi signo del zodiaco es libra.
36. Soy fan del K-Pop.
37. Mis grupos favoritos son BTOB, Monsta X, Oh My Girl, y Sistar. También estoy convirtiéndome en fan de Stray Kids y NCT.
38. He asistido a 3 conciertos de K-Pop — Vixx, Boyfriend, y Got7.
39. También estoy enamorándome un poco del J-Pop, de grupos como todos los de Exile.
40. Probablemente una de mis canciones favoritas por este momento es “Always with You” de Generations from Exile Tribe. En serio es porque me gusta la letra y el estilo muy tranquilo de la canción, no para los hombres sin camiseta en el video. He vista demasiado gracias al K-Pop para estar impresionada por un simple six pack.
41. Me gustan mucho los programas de variedad y dramas coreanas.
42. Para los dramas, mi favorito recientemente es Chief Kim (김과장).
43. Para los programas de variedad, me gustan Abnormal Summit (비정상회담) y Master in the House/All the Butlers (집사부일체).
44. Siempre guardo los cápitulos finales de dramas y no los veo por meses porque no quiero que terminen. Hasta hoy no he visto el capítulo final de Chief Kim y vi el drama a principios de 2018.
45. Me encantan los McFlurries de Oreo de McDonalds.
46. Mi tipo de comida favorito es la comida Tex-Mex y la comida Cajun. Son como la comida casera para mí. Mi mamá es de Luisiana y siempre ha cocinado la comida Cajun para nosotros en casa y soy de Texas, así que crecí comiendo la comida Tex-Mex. Hasta simplemente oler a esas comidas me hace sentir tan feliz y tranquila. Pero en verdad me gusta casi toda la comida del mundo.
47. En la prepa, nunca fui al baile del prom y solamente fui a homecoming una vez. En vez de hacer eso hice cosas con mi familia como ir de compras por una tienda de comida especializada y probar cafés.
48. Me encantan los canales teletiendas como QVC y HSN. No suelo compro nada, pero siempre tengo un de esos canales en la tele todo el día. Son tan relajantes y tranquilos.
49. Súper fan del patinaje artístico.
50. Me encanta la tienda Uniqlo, especialmente sus pantalones de sudadera. Los llevo ahora mismo.
